How long does eye filler last? That’s a good question. If you are considering under-eye filler, its good to know what to expect after the procedure. While some of this depends on your body, there are a few general guidelines that can give you a good idea of how long eye filler lasts.
Type of Eye Filler
The type of eye filler that you choose will greatly impact how long it lasts. There are permanent fillers that last indefinitely but they aren’t typically recommended for under the eyes. Most of the under-eye fillers in use today consist of hyaluronic acid. This includes Restylane, Juvéderm, Belotero, Kysse, Lyft, Silk, Refyne, Volbella, Vollure, Versa and more.
These fillers all have different formulas and different concentrations of hyaluronic acid. These qualities will impact how long they last. For example, Belotero is thin and runny ad may only last around 6 months. Alternatively, Restylane is firmer and is more cross linked so it can last up to 12-16 months.
Placement Technique
Over time, fillers gradually degrade from the body. As the amount of filler lessens, the effect wanes. However, filler placed close to the surface of the skin will be more noticeable for a longer period. But don’t think this is a good thing. Shallow filler can look lumpy or appear bluish.
While deeper filler may appear to disappear faster, its covered by more tissues. Therefore, it tends to look more natural. Unfortunately, since it is deeper, you may feel like it is 100% gone when only 50% has been absorbed by your body.

Amount of Filler Used
With undereye filler, a little goes a long way. A small amount of filler can do a lot to reduce or eliminate under-eye shadows, but it may also seem to dissipate faster. On the other hand, a lot of filler can be helpful when someone has dramatic cheek deflation due to aging or very deep under-eye grooves. In some cases, using a lot of filler under the eyes doesn’t look great.
