Your Guide to Natural Skincare in Northern Virginia

by in Skincare December 23, 2020

You may be surprised to learn that claims of natural skincare in Northern Virginia can often be misleading.

So, how do you know if your skincare product is actually natural? Check out our guide below for your convenience.

Clean Beauty

Clean beauty is the latest “it-girl” in the beauty and wellness space.

In fact, up to 50 percent of women are reported to search for all-natural or organic labels when selecting their skincare products.

However, labels can be deceiving and there are many products that claim to be “natural” while still containing synthetic materials such as fragrances, dyes or parabens.

Below are some of the labels you may come across in your search for clean skincare.

USDA Organic

When looking for truly natural skincare you want to be sure that it contains the USDA Organic Seal.

Products with this seal have been approved as being comprised of 95 to 100 percent organic ingredients.

Paraben Free

Always looks for the paraben free label products for a natural product that is free of preservatives.

Phthalate Free

If your skincare product says that it is phthalate free is means that it contains no chemicals used in many products such as fragrances.

Sulfate Free

Sulfates are often found in soaps and help oil and water mix together.

Toxin Free

A toxin free or nontoxic product is generally not something you need to be looking for as this term is not regulated for consistency.
