Feel More Confident in Your Skin
Just because something on your skin isn’t dangerous doesn’t mean it isn’t frustrating. Maybe it snags on clothing, gets irritated when you shave, or catches your eye in every photo. Even if insurance won’t cover it, you still deserve to feel comfortable and confident in your skin.
Elective dermatology gives you the option to remove the things that bother you — safely, quickly, and with medical expertise.
What Is Elective Dermatology?
Elective dermatology includes minor procedures that you choose to have fixed or removed because they bother you, even though they aren’t medically necessary. These concerns are often benign growths — but still worth treating if they impact your comfort or confidence.
Common Concerns We Treat
You might benefit from elective dermatology if you have:
- Skin tags
- Benign moles
- Seborrheic keratoses (“age spots” or “barnacles”)
- Cherry angiomas (small red bumps)
- Milia (white bumps under the skin)
- DPNs (dark bumps on cheeks/temples)
- Cysts
- Lipomas
- Warts (cosmetic areas)
- Broken blood vessels
- Spots that catch on clothing or jewelry
If it bothers you, you deserve care.
How Removal Works
- During your visit: Numbing may be used for comfort; removal is typically quick.
- After treatment: Mild redness or scabbing for a few days as skin heals.
- Results: Smooth skin where the spot once was — a relief you’ll see every day.
- Downtime: Usually minimal to none; you can resume normal activities immediately.
We’ll give you simple aftercare instructions to support the best cosmetic outcome.
Why Patients Choose Elective Removal
- You feel more confident in your appearance
- Skin irritation from shaving, clothing, or jewelry improves
- It’s comforting to know the spot is truly benign
- You can address multiple concerns in a single visit
- Treatment is safe, quick, and medically supervised
You’re taking care of something that’s been bothering you — and that’s enough reason.
Insurance + Pricing Information
- Insurance typically does not cover elective procedures. You’ll receive clear pricing before any treatment is done, and many concerns can be addressed in the same appointment if you choose to move forward.
- We believe in making this as easy and comfortable for you as possible.
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 1–2 weeks and discontinue tanning products.
- Pause active skincare (retinol, AHAs/BHAs, exfoliants) 3–5 days prior unless instructed otherwise.
- Disclose all medications and supplements—especially blood thinners, antibiotics, acne medications, and recent steroid use.
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, SPF, or perfume.
- Follow pre-procedure instructions provided by your clinician (e.g., antiviral prophylaxis, stopping certain meds, arranging a driver if sedation is involved).
After Treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and apply a gentle, broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to protect healing skin.
- Follow your clinician’s skincare instructions, using only approved gentle cleansers and moisturisers for the first few days.
- Avoid heat, workouts, saunas, and hot showers for 24–48 hours to reduce inflammation and irritation.
- Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate treated areas—allow any redness, flaking, or swelling to resolve naturally.
- Monitor for unusual symptoms such as increasing pain, spreading redness, fever, or discharge, and contact your clinician if they appear.
